It's 35 years since the release of Daniel Johnston's cassette albums "Hi How Are You" and "Yip Jump Music" in 1983 and now for the first time ever both albums are released combined.

The singular vinyl versions have been out of print for over 10 years. This 35th anniversary edition also includes a poster featuring the "Hi How Are You" artwork which is best known from the famous T-shirt worn by Kurt Cobain.

Also "Yip Jump Music" was amongst Kurt Cobain's most beloved albums of all time. Many songs on "Yip Jump Music" got covered by fellow bands and musicians: "Speeding Motorcycle" is one of Johnston's best-known songs; it has been covered by Yo La Tengo and The Pastels.

"King Kong" was covered by Tom Waits. "Rocket Ship" was covered by The Dead Milkmen: "Worried Shoes" was covered by Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O.

Also the song "Casper The Friendly Ghost" was featured in the 1995 cult film `Kids'. "[Hi How Are You] _is a friendly record marked by his increasing skill as a pop songwriter and his increasingly comfortable singing.

His mood here is good_" - ALL MUSIC "As for his early music, Yip/Jump Music may be the best place to begin immersing yourself in the world of Daniel Johnston.

Extremely primitively recorded with little instrumentation other than keyboards, Johnston's upbeat mood makes this a funny, sometimes moving exercise in obsessive behavior." - ALL MUSIC
