‘a mindblowing double-length set from Indonesian genius Harry Roesli – a record that brings together some of the older roots of the music of his nation with a very freewheeling style that's clearly inspired by some of the most progressive talents of the psychedelic years! There's a few tracks here that have gamelan-like percussion and progressions – but which also include electric guitar and bass, plus vocals that really situate the gongs and bells in a really different way. Then other tracks are straight rock numbers with fantastic guitar interplay that shows us that Roesli must have been listening to plenty of Carlos Santana and Frank Zappa. A few tracks offer up mellower heartfelt ballads, providing a richness of expression that takes the package way past the usual prog set ‘ dustygroove
